Information
First of all, what is this project? Well, it’s just another recreation of the Backrooms, however, it is performed much differently to what most are used to. I do owe a lot to the Backrooms Wikidot, as most of the levels stem from it. I suppose you could call this a fan-made “Canon” of the Backrooms. However, this project aims to focus almost entirely on complete isolation. Something I have never really liked about the modern Backrooms is how much it seems to delve into entities and human interaction. This is certainly good as its own thing, but I personally prefer the Backrooms to be something more akin to psychological horror, which is why I decided to start this project.
For how this “complete isolation” is actually performed, well it’s relatively simple. Firstly, there are no entities. None at all. Those who enter the Backrooms are left completely alone. This also means there’s no human interaction, which means there’s no outposts, tales, etcetera. To double-down on the psychological torment, those who end up in the Backrooms cannot die. They can’t even be harmed in any physical capacity, not even by themselves, which means they can fall from any height, walk endlessly, or swim without drowning. The only escape the individual will have is when they either face their reality like some sort of wisdom-filled breakthrough, or their conscience dies and they no longer feel emotion after an eternity of wandering the Backrooms.
When it comes to what this website actually represent, it’s an archive of documents handled by the B.C.A, or “Backrooms Confidentiality Association”. This group is emphasized to be the head of all major Backrooms analysis, and this website acts as a private holder of numerous digital documents. It is implied that the viewer themselves is a sort of lower-end member of the B.C.A, and while they have access to most files and documents, other things may be classified or censored from the reader. Any proof that the B.C.A. collects usually stems from cameras, recordings, notes, or other evidence that no-clips from the Backrooms back into the real-world, however, they also tend to attempt experiments on the Backrooms itself, forcing no-clips and exploring what they can, like some sort of Kane Pixels scenario. Some experiments go well, but most of the time they end with the loss of at least one person.
This project also performs some tweaks to the levels themselves, mainly making them more consistent across the board and intertwining the connections better, so that levels have enough connection to the rest of the Backrooms. However, I may significantly change or even overhaul levels if I so desire.
That’s about it for this project! Thank you for spending your time reading this, it means a lot. Bye! :3
PS: There’s no exit to the Backrooms, and there never will be.
